Free Arts Minnesota is partnering with Elliot Park Neighborhood, Inc.; the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board; and Downtown Families Minneapolis to bring an art festival to youth and families in Downtown Minneapolis! Join us for an afternoon of free arts, food, and fun at the Elliot Recreation Center!

There will be many family friendly art activities, face painting, a family portrait photo booth, and much more!

Families will also get to create their own story and artwork with one of the authors of the loved (and local!) book Rags to Riches (Rags the Dog). Author Carey Pearson will do a book reading and share the heart-warming tale of a little rescue dog named Rags and her search for friends. Free Arts will lead a kid-friendly workshop and assist adults and youth in creating their own stories and drawings to take home. Rags the dog will also make an appearance! Acquire a copy of Rags to Riches at this event ($10 check/cash only).

See you there!

The proceeds from this event will provide the youth who participate in Free Arts programming opportunities to engage with practicing artists and art makers, offer the students glimpses into the creative process, and provide kids hands on experiences to make art and explore how and why art enhances any environment.
