Free Arts Minnesota is joining forces with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities! Follow the Art and travel with us as we take this next step on the Free Arts journey.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a well-respected mentoring nonprofit coming up on its 100th anniversary in the Twin Cities. This transition grew out of our mutual desire to expand the continuum of mentoring beyond the traditional 1:1 model, while also reaching more youth. One thing that Big Brothers Big Sisters noted through our conversations is that Free Arts serve youth experiencing challenging circumstances that are not typically good matches for one-to-one mentorship. Both of our organizations will be stronger together!
This transition also ensures that the well-respected Free Arts programming will remain the same as it is today, while also providing opportunities for growth and expansion and, ultimately, serve more Twin Cities youth. Under the leadership of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Free Arts mentors, donors and program staff will continue to have access to information, training and other engagement opportunities. We are excited to see where this journey will lead, but we are certain that our Free Arts future is bright.
As we approach the end of the year, it is very important that we ensure the consistency of programming and staffing and maintain the overall financial health of Free Arts through the transition. Free Arts represents a new, unbudgeted program for Big Brothers Big Sisters and they can’t begin to raise funds from our grantors and donors until January 1st. Your gift of any size will support our programming now and into 2018 to ensure a seamless transition for our youth and partner sites. Donate online now.
