VOLunteer Opportunities for youth

Free Arts Minnesota has some great opportunities for teens and youth who are interested in volunteering with the community. Although our internships are most appropriate for adults, teens and youth can be involved in Free Arts Minnesota by joining our Free Arts Street Team, becoming a Social Media Volunteer or volunteering with a parent in our Weekly Mentorship Program, if they are 16 years old, or older . Please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Esther Callahan, if you are under 18 and would like to get involved in Free Arts Minnesota!

Parent-teen volunteer teams for Weekly mentorship

A parent and mature teen, age 15+ can volunteer in our Weekly Mentorship Program together! This is a great opportunity to spend quality time and make an impact in the lives of the children Free Arts Minensota serves. Please fill out the volunteer application and indicate that you are interested in volunteering as a parent-teen team.

Free Arts street team (FASt)

Our Free Arts Street Team allows for motivated youth and teens to get engaged in the community and help us spread the word about Free Arts Minnesota. We will utilize teen volunteers to promote our organization at various local events and even plan their own fun outings as well!

Who?

• Creative and outgoing teens that are looking for a fun and unique way to volunteer

When?

• A commitment of about two days per month at which we will attend various events and promote Free Arts and our Mission
• We will have a training session at which you will be introduced into the organization

Why?

• In order for an organization like Free Arts to continue on in the future, we rely on the goodness of others. By reaching more people with the Free Arts mission we are able to attract more interest from potential donors, potential supporters, and potential volunteers.

Social Media Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to help Free Arts Minnesota increase our presence online. Our social media volunteers will help us spread information about our organization through various forms of social media.

Who?

• Savvy and techy individuals (also great for teenagers!) with a strong presence on several social media sites. (Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Foursquare, etc.)

When?

• Various times throughout the year when Free Arts is hosting or attending various events. During our heavy recruitment times.
• We will provide you with a script of what to post on your site; it’s up to you to get the word out about Free Arts using the social media you’re  involved in!

Why?

• In order for an organization like Free Arts to continue on in the future, we rely on the goodness of others. By reaching more people with the Free Arts mission we are able to attract more interest from potential donors, potential supporters, and potential volunteers.
