Ways to Volunteer

Free Arts Minnesota provides many ways for you to harness and further your talents and passions.

Weekly Mentorship Program

You, along with four to five other volunteers, will lead the same small group of children from September through May for one hour each week. Weekday, weekend or evening placements are available. Volunteers in the group take turns planning and leading art projects. Volunteers can develop ongoing projects or projects that are finished during a weekly session. Activities may include visual arts, dance, movement, drama, music, photography, sculpture, creative writing or other art mediums that volunteers wish to try. Locations: throughout Twin Cities.

Strengthening Families Through the Arts

You will work with a team of volunteers to lead an eight-session program with a consistent group of at-risk families. The program consists of selecting art projects from a predetermined list. Sessions last two hours and meet the first and third Saturdays for four months.

Office

You may work with us on a short- or long-term basis to assist in mailings, answering phones, data base entry, research and preparation work for art projects, public relations, event management, etc. Location: Minneapolis
