Ways to Volunteer

Free Arts Minnesota provides many ways for you to harness and further your talents and passions.

Weekly Mentorship Program

You, along with four to five other volunteers, will lead the same small group of children from September through May for one hour each week. Weekday, weekend or evening placements are available throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area. Volunteers will be placed at one of our Weekly Mentorship partnering agencies. Volunteers in the group take turns planning and leading art projects, using projects provided by Free Arts Minnesota staff, or by developing their own projects. Activities may include visual arts, dance, movement, drama, music, photography, sculpture, creative writing or other art mediums that volunteers wish to try. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age (in some cases, 16 is acceptable), or 15+ if volunteering with a parent. Please apply here!

VIDEOgraphers & Photographers

Free Arts Minnesota welcomes the help of videographers and photographers to assist us in documenting our programs and events. In 2012, Free Arts Minnesota hopes to collect new footage and edited videos for our use. If you have a passion for art and want to help at-risk children, please consider donating your creative talents by contacting Rebecca.

Internships

Internships involve a 10 to 20 hour-a-week commitment depending on the internship position. Internship positions include: program, marketing, development and graphic/web. Read more about our Internship

Fundraising

We invite you to serve on a committee for fundraisers, to solicit donations and gifts or organize an art supply drive. Please visit our Free Arts Wish List page for items you can contribute. Or check out Free Arts Minnesota's Wish List at Target Lists.
