
Now accepting applications for internships starting in spring of 2013 on a rolling basis.
Commitment: Internships involve a 10 to 30 hour a week commitment. These hours must be accomplished 9-5 Monday-Friday. We prefer that interns are in the office at least two days a week, from 9 am- 2 pm. We also have occassional evening and weekend events. In these cases, interns can deduct hours from your regular weekly schedule to accomodate the extra evening or weekend hours.
Organization Summary:
Free Arts Minnesota is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the healing powers of artistic expression into the lives of abused, neglected and at-risk children and their families. Over 250 trained volunteers bring arts and mentorship to children living in residential treatment centers, domestic abuse shelters, therapeutic preschools and special school settings throughout Minnesota.

Job Description:
The Free Arts Intern will work in a fast-paced and forward-thinking environment, with true hands-on opportunities. They will assist the Free Arts staff in implementing the program year, fundraising and administration. This could include: Mentorship group visits, training development, database upkeep, curriculum development for pre-school through adolescent age groups, organizing and packing supplies for partner facilities and special events, soliciting donations for silent auction and general event assistance.
Secondary responsibilities will include volunteer workshop development, volunteer recruitment, assist with mailings, call local organizations for art supply donations, research new and fresh ideas for volunteer retention and recognition, office and supply room organization and other responsibilities as assigned. All Free Arts internships are tailored to the interests of the intern and the needs of the organization at the time.
