During April, which is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, we’re taking art to the streets. A collection of 20 painted canvases will rotate between five bus shelters along the Hennepin Avenue corridor in Minneapolis. Children volunteers, from ages 3 to 16, created these Spring-themed murals.
“These murals represent children's hopes and dreams, frustrations and feelings, and life experiences,” said Free Arts Minnesota Executive Director Michelle Silverman. “What resides in every child, and is represented in every painting, is resiliency, hope and dreams for a positive future.”
The paintings in rotation will be on display through May 1.
