You are a committed, caring individual with a strong interest in healing young lives through artistic expression. You do NOT need to be a professional artist. You do NOT need to have a degree in social work, psychology or child development. You're willing to commit to two hours per week for the duration of a school year.
You could be placed at any of our Weekly Mentorship partner agencies, depending on your interests, schedule and transportation needs. We work together to find a time and place that works well for you. We do NOT host programs in our downtown offices.
Yes! We have many partner agencies located on public transportation routes and often volunteer teams arrange car pools.
Yes! We offer a fun, informative volunteer training at the beginning of the mentorship year and ongoing free workshops and networking events to help you improve your mentoring experience and gain important skills and knowledge. Many of our volunteers have used these opportunities to make professional connections and boost their resumes.
